Our range of CST testing devices includes the basic 304B to the fully automated CST.
Rapid determination of sludge dewatering increases solids recovery and sludge cake dryness. It optimises the dosing of conditioning chemicals, reduces operational costs and improves plant efficiency.
The CST is a very fast method for assessing the effects of flocculent chemicals on the dewatering properties of the sludge. If you can achieve a low CST the sludge will dewater well and achieve the maximum cake solids content.
The Type 304 CST units are the basic models to perform single tests. If there are a large number of tests the Type 319 allows for 5 test heads (1 supplied) and so increases the test frequency at less than twice the price of a single CST. The Type 319 also allows for the determination of specific resistance to filtration with the multi-radii test head.
The Stirrer Timer is intended to simulate the effects of mechanical dewatering systems. After stirring the sample is retested and if the flocs have been damaged by the dewatering process the CST is lengthened.
